Channel 4, 1988, 60 mins
A look at theatre through the eyes of Soviet drama students from the Moscow Art Theatre School, who are shown rehearsing Arthur Miller’s The Crucible with a group of young British actors. The students, who were invited to Britain by Royal Shakespeare Company actor Brian Cox, talk about the effects of glasnost, their impressions of London, and the challenge of presenting The Crucible on stage in Moscow on their return home.
